SOUTHWEST HARBOR – Cheryl Marshall of Sullivan and David  Leighton of Ellsworth are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter Valerie Leighton to Christopher  Ward, son of John Ward and Diane Ward, and the late Janet Ward of Southwest Harbor and Surry.

Valerie is a Husson University nursing student and will graduate in the spring. Christopher is serving in the Army and is deployed in Afghanistan.  Both are 2007 graduates of Mount Desert Island High School.
