GUILFORD — Rhonda Welcome of Guilford is happy to announce the engagement of her daughter Shannon Marie Flint to Alexander Dodge Rioux. Alexander is the son of Louis and Joan Rioux of Boothbay. Shannon is also the daughter of Harold F. Flint of Monson.

Shannon is a 2002 graduate of Piscataquis Community High School and Phoenix College, where she received her associate degree in 2001. Shannon is employed by Saint Andrews Hospital, Boothbay Harbor. Alex is a graduate of North Bennett Street School for Fine Furniture Making in Boston. Alex is owner-operator of Esoteric Woodworking in Boothbay.

A leap-year wedding is planned for Feb. 29, 2012, at Linekin Bay Resort in Boothbay Harbor.
