OLD TOWN — In honor of Carleton and Linda Perry on their 50th wedding anniversary, we their children wish to express our thoughts on how their marriage has affected us as individuals.
“For our family, the two things that have stood the test of time and struggle are the deep abiding knowledge we have that Dad and Mom will always be one and that God is their unwavering tugboat captain.” – Wayne
“Marriage required putting self aside and looking to the others’ needs; and to that end God is the key.” – Laurie
“Dad and Mom’s marriage taught me not only commitment to one another, but also a commitment and obedience to the God they both fear and love, and it has worked for 50 years and going.” Ephesians 5:22-33 – Matthew
“To me, my parents marriage means staying together regardless of their differences.” – David
“In a world where loyal love is a stranger to most and trust is even more foreign, my mother and father have become marital guideposts for me as their faithful love and support for each other has no limit.” – Ruth
Congratulations on 50 years! God bless. Love, Wayne, Laurie, Matthew, David, Ruth and all the grandchildren
