WINTERVILLE – Dayna Marie Somers and Christopher Alan Wener exchanged wedding vows on June 9, 2012, at Twin Pines Resort on Millinocket Lake in Millinocket. Ellen Manzo, family friend, performed the ceremony.
Hannah Somers was her sister’s maid of honor. Hilary Arsenault, Jamie Johnson, Lisa Kranich and Holly Franck, all longtime friends of the bride, and Ashley Donaldson, sister of the groom, were bridesmaids. The best man was Marty Curnan, with Greg Seamans, Marc Vanderhoof, Nick Pelletier and Thomas Kallen, friends of the groom, and Brian Donaldson, the groom’s brother-in-law, as groomsmen. Readings were given during the ceremony by Dayna’s brother, Drew and Christopher’s sister, Ashley. Special invited guests that were unable to attend included Mr. Edwin Waite, great-grandfather of the bride, and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Ferguson, grandparents of the groom.
Dayna is the daughter of Jill and Scott Somers of Millinocket. She graduated in 2006 from Stearns High School in Millinocket and in 2012 cum laude from University College of Bangor with a degree in veterinary technology. She is employed by North Country Animal Hospital in Caribou. Christopher is the son of Christine and Christopher Wener of West Rutland, Vt. He is a 2004 graduate of Rutland High School and a 2008 graduate of the University of Maine with a degree in forest operation science. He is employed by JBR Logging in Portage.
After enjoying a honeymoon in Nashville, Tenn., the newlyweds are now at home in Winterville with their dogs, Dixie and Waylon.
